Today's Hot Take publishes fresh, genuinely debatable stories every day — the kind of thing reasonable people land on different sides of. You read a quick summary, vote where you stand, and see how everyone else is splitting. If you want the fuller picture, each topic has a deeper breakdown of what happened, why people disagree, and what's still unclear, with links to the sources it's drawn from.

How topics get made

We use AI tools to help find candidate stories, draft the background research, and write the deeper "what happened / why people disagree / what's still unclear" breakdowns you see on each topic page. Every topic is reviewed before it publishes, and the sources listed on a topic page are real, linked articles from established outlets — not AI-invented citations. We're upfront about this because we think you should know how the site is built, not because we think it makes the content less useful.
